Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula – Hong Kong

One day, and after a long walk around the city site seeing and shopping, we decided to stop by The Peninsula Hotel’s Afternoon Tea. Afterall, it was on our “To Do” list and here it is πŸ˜‰ So why not?

The Afternoon Tea is open daily from 2:00PM to 6:00PM and is located in the main entrance – and as they say, there is always time for tea, right? πŸ˜‰ Dress code there is smart casual. Everyone looked well dressed and well mannered! The queue, however, was TOOOOO LOOOOONG! It took us around 25 minutes to get a table…

Everything in the Afternoon Tea and the lobby area was decorated in a very festive way… even their menus and center pieces

Very high classical ceiling reminded me of the interiors of Angelina Cafe in Paris (link)… very fancy and opulent!

Even the table sets were very Christmas-y

We ordered Chinese Rose Tea for two persons… its loose tea leaves kinda tea, very aromatic and was just perfect!

Mimmi ordered cheesecake! The cheesecake itself is fancy and nicely presented! The crust is made into a round shape like biscuit, topped with a dome of cheese, on top of which was a lemon sorbet and a raspberry thin paper (for decoration)… not to mention the dots of raspberry sauce decorating the plate – simply an elegant piece of art

The thin paper was gone first πŸ˜› A raspberry piece is tucked inside in the middle of the cheesecake dome!

Moving on to my order… two scoops of ice cream; Vanilla and Coffee! Now how can this be presented in a fancy way? Check this out! Two round flat meringues used as bases for each scoop of the ice cream, with a cream dollop of cream in the middle and think dark chocolate stick… a couple of raspberries with some sauce underneath the meringue, and that’s it! Simply amazing! The coffee flavor was one of the best coffee flavored ice cream I have tried

The service was superb and prompt! They also offer free WiFi connection to guests… so I was tweet-ing, facebook-ing, and Instagram-ing pictures πŸ˜‰

Our total came to HKD320

I loved it and highly recommend that you guys drop by when in Hong Kong! The hotel also has shops… from all kinda brands; LV, Chanel. Cartier… you name it! The Christmas trees there were decorated with those shops’ boxes! Fancy eh? πŸ˜‰

The Peninsula is located in Kowloon Island on Salisbury Road… its a MUST and again, there is always time for afternoon tea πŸ˜‰ Right? So do not miss it
