@POTBELLY With @Bazaartweets

I was invited by Bazaar MagazineΒ and AlShaya Group to try out POTBELLY – the newly opened sandwich shop all the way from Chicago in The Avenues πŸ˜‰

Due to the crowd in the restaurant… I was not able to take much pictures, so I stole some from Omarker, Dusty Roses, & Pink Girl… I hope you guys dont mind πŸ˜‰

And this is how to POTBELLY! First you choose your sandwich or salad (AND in our case) – then you choose your toppings, and lastly pay and enjoy your meal… In my case, it was complimentary from AlShaya via Bazaar πŸ˜‰

And can you guess who from Bazaar went with me to try it out? The one and only, the lovely Yasmine… my fellow 518er πŸ˜‰ So here goes our order: When choosing your sandwich and bread (regular or multigrain) you can go for the small size which is 7″ or big size which is 11″! You can also ask them to carve it for you to have less carbs – in that case you eat your sandwich minus 1/3 less bread. We decided to go for two 7″ sandwiches one multigrain and one regular with all the bread πŸ˜› and swap halves πŸ˜‰ That way we can try a bit of everything

Then we discussed toppings and reached our mutual choices πŸ˜‰ Fair enough… we kinda have the same taste! As for the sandwiches choices… there are the classical ones, and the premium ones! I was recommended to try out the Wreck by Mr. Fadi… this one we got in the multigrain. The other sandwich we picked was Grilled Chicken with Cheddar in regular bread

Mr. Fadi wanted to treat us to a salad and he recommended the UPTOWN! As for the dressing we left that to him – he picked ranch dressing with a touch of balsamic.

Because we wanted the whole experience, we were asked to go stand in line and order…

We placed our orders and went back to the table… shortly after, a complimentary soup – broccoli and cheese, was served – it was warm, hearty, and full of yumminess!

And two milkshakes… Yasmine got a Strawberry Milkshake while I got the Banana Shake… What I like about Yasmine is that she is as flexible as me. When they asked us if we trusted them enough to get us drinks, we both said yes and were surprised with the options picked! Mine was creamy and rich… It would be a perfect snack to pick up by itself or with one of their yummy cookies (coming up later in the post)

The UPTOWN Salad was a winner…. I took the rest with me back home (sorry Yasmine πŸ˜› LOL). It is made of grilled chicken, dried cranberries, red grapes, apples, red onions, bluecheese, and candied walnuts! Its full of surprises… and the ranch with balsamic touch was a great addition! Its the kind of surprised-with-every-bite kinda dish that I like and love! Even better? It can be served chopped and mixed for those who wanna take it on the go! Highly recommended and 518 approved πŸ˜‰

And here comes our sandwiches

Yasmine and I both tried the same sandwiches (since we swapped half of’em) and realize that I am a WRECK person, while she is totally a Grilled Chicken & Cheddar girl! Both sandwiches were really good… but the Wreck is my kinda sandwich! I felt like I was Joey Tribbiani with this one with all kinds of meat in it!! Beef salami, roast beef, turkey breast, smoked turkey, and swiss cheese! Whats not to like here – and again, its got 518 seal of approval all over it πŸ˜‰ We tried it minus the hot pepper so maybe next time I should be brave enough to have it with pepper? πŸ˜›

We were both given Brownie Cookie on our way out… but since I’m not big on too chocolate-y stuff, I was given the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie which was DIVINE!

It was hot and fresh out of the oven…. and the chocolate melted in my mouth smoothly! Texture was all chewy! Its highly recommended and also 518 approved πŸ˜‰

It was all good… I had a great time with Yasmine, she’s a foodie like me πŸ˜‰ And AlShaya Group (Thank you Fadi, Maan, Himchawi, and Dominque) did a great job taking care of us and spoiling us with all the good food! The staff we all smiles and fast in taking orders! If you see a long line, dont worry… they are efficient in taking orders and fast in making sandwiches up πŸ˜‰

Oh and for those who are interested in having Starbucks Coffee…. POTBELLY brew it at their shop πŸ˜‰

POTBELLY is located in The Avenues – Phase II at the entrance of the food court and their tel number:Β 22581997. They do have special baskets made for pickup orders (I will share the menu with you soon on Q8PD)
