Google Doodle: Mary Blair

Google Doodle today honors Mary Blair‘s contribution to art and animation and paid a homage on her 100th birthday!

She is a Disney legend, if you do not recognize her name you will surely recognize her work as illustrator in Disney’s animated classics such as Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Cinderella….

Oh and of course from Google Doodle today, its clear that The Small World attraction ride at Walt Disney World/Disney Land is created as an inspiration of her style!

A true artist! LOVED her work… very unique and ahead of its time

“She brought modern art to Walt in a way that no one else did. He was so excited about her work.” –Animator Marc Davis

“Mary was the first artist I knew of to have different shades of red next to each other. You just didn’t do that! But Mary made it work.” –Animator Frank Thomas

You can check out her work in the Walt Disney Family Museum/Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco – The Art and Flair of Mary Blair
