Family Lunch at Crimson Garden

Usually Friday lunch is sacred in out house! We hardly make any plans! We are kind of not allowed to because its our family lunch day πŸ˜‰ BUT…. yes, but, since most of our family members are out of the country, my dad and two of my sisters decided to have lunch out… we all agreed to go to Crimson Garden since its one of our favorite restaurants (family approved) πŸ˜‰

So as usual… fresh bread is served – fresh yummy Iranian bread πŸ˜‰ Every time I’m at Crimson Garden I try not to have this bread anywhere near me because I can eat it all up! Specially when it comes with this side dish

I would take a piece of bread and form into a pocket stuffed with slice of white cheese, nuts, and thyme… sometimes I add olives too! I can munch on this till I get stuffed.. but I simply refrain myself from doing so… so that I can enjoy my meal LOL

Mimmi and I ordered Yogurt Drink (laban), dad ordered lemon with mint… but Fulla, the queen of unique choice of juices ordered Yaqout (picture above) which is made of lemon, mango, mint, and je ne sais quoi! She loved it! She always go creative with her juice choices in most restaurants!

Shirazi Salad… Mimmi’s favorite side at Iranian restaurants! Although I’m not a fan of cucumber, I cannot help but steal a spoonful of it! The dressing is just lemonistic!

Then comes the moment of truth…. MAIN COURSES! They bring in a side of sumac, pickles, butter, and chili as condiments to complete your dish πŸ˜‰

Dad ordered grilled hamour with two kinds of rice, dilled and saffron! He said the fish was spiced just right, and the dill rice is amazing!

Mimmi ordered grilled chicken and saffron rice… the chicken tasted really good! She used to order Kobeideh all the time… but grilled chicken became her new favorite which kinda shock me since she hardly eat chicken that is not home cooked!

Fulla and I ordered the same dish… Kobeideh! So I snapped a picture of my dish only! The kebabs are full of flavor! I prefer Iranian kebabs over all others and those kebabs at Crimson Garden hit the spot just right! My zereshk rice was a great companion to those two skewers! I sprinkled my kebabs with sumac and lemon juice… add a little butter on top of my rice (Fahad, dont kill me) but this is how I like to indulge πŸ˜‰ Specially when the food is SO GOOD πŸ˜€

We also had two extra sides that I forgot to snap pictures of; Sabsi Stew and Okra (bamya) stew! I love okra, and they have a great okra stew at Crimson Garden!

All in all, we all finished our dishes to the last bite! Its a family favorite and we do go there every once in a while (check here, here, and here). We were there at around 2:00PM and it was semi full… by 2:30PM the place was packed so if you plan to go there on a weekend, go around this time πŸ˜‰
