Curry House

I was craving Indian food badly, so I opened up 6alabat and browsed through the listed Indian restaurants… Since I never tried Curry House and -knowing me- I’m always up to try new restaurants, so why not? πŸ˜‰

I placed the order, and about 40 minutes later the food arrived!

The packaging was neat… everything was in its place πŸ˜‰ Nothing spilled and the aroma was overwhelming – specially when you are hungry πŸ˜›

I ordered Chicken 65, Tandoori Naan, Jeera Rice, and Butter Chicken. I was surprised that they did not bring in the crispy papad bread – which is almost always a must in all Indian restaurants + I love it so much πŸ™ Well, anyways……

The Naan bread was really good, fresh, and fluffy! It wasn’t, to my surprise, too oily or too buttery! It was just right πŸ˜‰ However the Chicken 65, which is basically boneless chicken morsels marinated in chili paste + star anise + lemon and then golden fried, was a big disappointment! It lacked flavor, and was too dry… I only ate a couple of pieces, and it did not feel like chicken… nor did it fit the description!!!

A couple of condiments; semi pickled onions (they were ok), and coriander chutney (yummy) – I really love coriander chutney with Indian food, and this one was good

The Butter Chicken…. as you can see from the picture above, was too oily/buttery! I like the stew of butter chicken to be a bit creamier and thicker than this! However, it did not taste bad… it was kinda good, but not to my taste and standard

The Jeera Rice (which is my favorite Indian cooked rice) is basically made of basmati rice tempered with cumin seeds and some herbs. It was really good but also oily (you can tell from the picture above – its kinda shiny) and that kind of rice is not available in all Indian restaurants in Kuwait. Its my new favorite kind of rice and the portion sent to me is enough for two (I ate less than half the portion delivered) and it was really good

My total came to KD5.850 (KD0.250 of which were 6alabat charges). However, you can call them directly on 22266500 and place your order. I have sent their menu a while back to KTPD which you can find here!
